If you are thinking of starting a troll collection, the best advice is to buy the trolls that you like. You want a collection of trolls that you will enjoy. Whether you are collecting trolls or selling trolls. there are some things to look for such as condition and rarity.
History:
Knowing the history of trolls will help you identify the different types of trolls. Troll identification is important because some manufacturers trolls tend to sell better than others.
Condition:
The condition of the troll is very important. If possible the troll should have long hair, original outfit, and no marks. A troll with cut hair is not very appealing to collectors. In addition, 3 inch trolls with the old spiral eyes are being desired by collectors. That said, there are people who will repair the older trolls so even if a old troll has hair damage, the troll may still be worth some money.
Rarity:
Unless you find a troll at a garage sale or thrift store, you will have to pay more for rare trolls. Here is a short list of rarer trolls and the prices that they sold for on Ebay. If you are looking for new trolls, you can still find some at gift shops and Amazon has Russ Bernie troll dolls for sale. Dam Things is still making trolls but it is hard to find them in the United States. You can see their catalog online. Thrift shops, garage sales, and Ebay are all great place to find new and used trolls too.
